Aerospace, as an industry, is a remarkable and unique endeavor that has not only pushed every physical frontier on and beyond this planet for 100 years, but also enabled its inhabitants to travel around it with extraordinary ease and safety. 

While perhaps few people would describe air travel as 'inspiring', aviation is just that: adventurous, challenging and exciting.  There is a world above that only a privileged few really experience that way.

I have been to countless airshows and always left with wonderful souvenirs celebrating the aircraft on display.  But when I fly, or when I travel, the aircraft is only part of the experience. 

The place we go, and the home we miss, are just as important parts of each journey.

I took my first visit to AirVenture in 2018.  The most common question I heard and asked was, "Where are you from?" I thought I would like to help people share that, proudly, the same way people show loyalty for their favorite sports teams.

So we started Wild Blue with the Home Base Collection. No matter where you're from, it's home to you, and Wild Blue wants to help you celebrate it and share it.

We want to be essential equipment for your next fly-in, along with your sectional chart, log book and headset. 

This is a community characterized by adventure, precision and passion.  We created Wild Blue Gear to help this community connect in the real world.  While you already strike up a conversation with someone because you're curious about their aircraft, now you can more easily strike up a conversation because you're curious about their home. 

One glance at one of our home field designs, even from across the ramp, tells you enough to pique that curiosity and break that ice. 

All our home field designs show the location, runway layout, and elevation of the field.  "I didn't know Idaho had such high airfields; what's it like to fly around Mackay?" 

Our Home Field in Color designs also color-code the runway surface, black for asphalt, gray for gravel, green for turf, yellow for dirt, blue for water, and turqouise for Marston mat. ("Gravel strip in Alaska? Tell me more!").

Not everyone who loves and participates in aviation is a pilot.  Wild Blue Gear is not just for pilots.  Moving a billion-plus people around the world in safety and comfort is an enormously complex endeavor that demands high performing teams bearing formidable responsibility, from engineers and mechanics to ATC and cabin crew. 

For this reason we believe anyone who participates in aviation should take pride in it, which is why our Home Field Collection (and Icon Collection) include major metro U.S. airports as well. 

Any while your home field is meaningful to you and your community, the majors are iconic: employing thousands; driving economies; helping people connect; and making the world smaller.  And because the majors are all different, they are all unique.  To many, they are even recognizable. 

And to all the folks who bring them to life, they are rightfully a source of home field pride.
